Hairline Lowering/Forehead Reduction

Hairline lowering, also known as forehead reduction surgery, is a cosmetic procedure aimed at reducing the height or length of the forehead and lowering the hairline. This surgical procedure is typically sought by patients who feel their forehead is too high and wish to achieve a more balanced facial appearance. Most times, it is performed on patients who are born with a high hairline.

During the surgery, the surgeon removes a portion of the forehead skin and repositions the hairline to a lower position. In most cases, the entire scalp is moved forward. Once the entire scalp is moved into the new position, the extra forehead skin is removed. The specific methods used to lower the hairline may vary depending on individual characteristics and goals.

The procedure is well tolerated by most patients and the procedure produces immediate results with minimal pain reported by patients. However, it is important to note that like any surgical procedure hairline lowering carries potential risks and complications. In some cases, hairline grafting, further advancement, or scar revision may need to be performed following the surgery.
