WHO WE ARE
The California Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (CACS) was incorporated in 1997 and is dedicated to the advancement of patient care in cosmetic surgery. CACS is an inclusive, multi-specialty Academy comprising of cosmetic and aesthetic medicine physicians.

APPLICATION PROCESS
Upon receipt of a completed application and dues fee, the application is forwarded to the Membership Committee for review. The Membership Committee recommends approval of applications to the Board of Trustees, provided all requirements are met. You will be notified by email approximately two weeks following submission of your application.

FELLOW
Physician members are considered Fellows of the academy and this status is granted to any physician (MD, DO, DDS, or DMD) who performs cosmetic surgery or aesthetic medicine. CACS Fellows are expected to ensure high-quality patient care and a commitment to patient safety and quality outcomes through expanded knowledge and skills. The CACS is committed to providing advanced education and training opportunities in cosmetic surgery and aesthetic medicine and members receive a substantial discount on educational resources.

  • Copy of board certification (if applicable)
  • Copy of valid medical license
  • Endorsement

TRAINING FELLOW/RESIDENT MEMBER
As a cosmetic surgery training fellow or resident, your membership is complimentary until you complete your program. The CACS wants to allow you to learn more about the opportunities in cosmetic surgery and help you transition into a successful cosmetic surgery practice. To support our commitment to training and professional development, all training fellows and residents receive complimentary admission to our annual scientific meeting.

  • Training Fellowship or Residency director’s letter on letterhead confirming start and end dates of program

ALLIED HEALTH MEMBER
CACS allied health members are a broad group of healthcare professionals who perform services related to cosmetic surgery such as nurses, PA’s, NP’s, surgical techs, aestheticians, office managers, and ancillary staff. Allied Health membership is not available to physicians.

About CACS

The CACS provides educational and advocacy resources to all interested physicians. The goal of the CACS is to assure optimal patient care in the field of cosmetic medical and surgical care. The CACS functions as an information source and liaison between the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery, the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and the California Medical Board (CMB) in medical regulatory and equivalency matters.
