Welcome to the California Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (CACS)!
CACS MISSION STATEMENT
The CACS provides educational and advocacy resources to all interested physicians. The goal of the CACS is to assure optimal and safe patient care in the field of cosmetic medical and surgical treatment. The CACS functions as an information source and liaison between the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery, the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and the California Medical Board (CMB) in medical regulatory and equivalency matters.
In this role, the CACS has been involved in patient safety issues (e.g. liposuction guidelines), legislative issues (e.g. office surgical suite accreditation), and regulatory processes (e.g. Board Certification Equivalency issues). The CACS continues to monitor state legislative activities and foster positive relationships within local and California State government offices and agencies.
MEMBERSHIP
The CACS provides a unique membership opportunity in a multispecialty organization where fellow members are willing to share, inspire, motivate, encourage and educate other members. The CACS environment of cooperation helps its members develop a very close personal friendship with other Cosmetic Surgeons that they can depend on professionally.
The CACS will keep member Cosmetic Surgeons informed of all political battles in California and actively fight through lobby representation, for our right to practice Cosmetic Surgery.
The CACS provides an opportunity for all its members to advance within the organization and pursue leadership positions on the Board of Trustees.
The CACS is recognized by both the ABCS and the AACS with regular discussions with CACS leaders.

EDUCATION
The CACS Annual Scientific Meeting and quarterly Live Surgery Workshops on well selected Cosmetic Surgery topics is a relevant way to stay educated in new aesthetic concepts while reviewing time-tested techniques in Cosmetic Surgery.
THE HISTORY OF THE CACS
On January 20, 1998 the California Academy of Cosmetic Surgery was incorporated in the state of California.
The founders believed the principal objectives of the California Academy were to foster, promote, support, augment, develop and encourage the science and art of cosmetic surgery.
The California Academy of Cosmetic Surgery is an independent organization, recognized as a nonprofit entity by the Internal Revenue Service under Section 501(c) of the Internal Revenue Code. The California Academy of Cosmetic Surgery has an independent set of officers, a board of trustees, and an executive director who manage, maintain, and set policy for the Board. The Board has evolved over the last few decades to keep up with the latest trends in cosmetic surgery while maintaining the highest standards.
